Nestled in a copy of hardbacked leatherbound edition of ‘Modern Practical Cookery (undated)’ that belonged to my Great Grandmother, I’ve just found a Dig For Victory leaflet (no. 11) on “Bottling and Canning Fruit and Vegetables”.
This is the first D4V leaflets that I’ve ever seen, so I thought that I would share this with you…

Hi Barbie,
Thanks for the comment. I’m guessing you’re referring to Francis Elwood in Wilburton, who was baptised on 5th July 1813 with what seems to have been his two sisters, Phebe and Ann. All were the children of William Elwood and his wife Mary. Looks like there might be an earlier Ann Ellwood who was baptised on 25th August 1810 (unless she was baptised twice – happened sometimes!).
As for a William and Mary Elwood marriage, I can’t see an obvious one right now. There’s on in 1805 according to Ancestry.co.uk but that’s over in Leckonfield, Yorkshire, England which is quite a distance.
